This year’s FIFA World Cup is being hosted by Russia and, with the tournament only a few weeks away, EA Sports’ FIFA 18 has simulated all the action and revealed its predictions ahead of next month’s IRL showdown: France and defending champions Germany are predicted to make the final in Moscow, where France will ultimately triumph on penalties.
If everything goes as simulated, hosts Russia will crash out to Spain in the first knockout round, losing 3-1, while dark horse Belgium will take down Brazil in the quarterfinals. Germany will apparently win every game on its way to the final, beating 2010 champions Spain 3-1 in the semi-final. Spain will ultimately finish third, beating Belgium 2-1 in the third-place play-off tie.
While FIFA 18 might have picked France to win, Germany and Brazil are still bookmakers’ heavy favorites to lift the trophy on July 15.
The downloadable FIFA 18 World Cup expansion pack will be available to FIFA owners tomorrow.
