Lil Yachty Shows Off His Extremely Rare Sneaker Collection

Following Lil Yachty mourning his busted $14,000 Nike MAGs on Complex‘s Sneaker Shopping series, the rapper is back to show off his very own extensive sneaker collection in the first of a two-part episode of Complex Closets.

Along with host Joe La Puma, Yachty unveils a variety of old Air Jordans, like the “Black Cement” Air Jordan 3 from 2001, Air Jordan 1s from 1994, and his pair of OG Air Jordan 5’s from high school.

Other notable silhouettes include the Kanye West x Louis Vuitton sneakers, his Virgil Abloh-signed Air Jordan 1s, rare promo sneakers from Seinfeld and Scrubs, as well as a pair of Playstation Air Force 1s.

Aside from the kicks, Yachty talks about Jordan Brand copying Macklemore’s Air Jordan 6 design and more. Here’s a few takeaways from the interview.

On his rare Air Seinfelds…

LY: “I bought these from Round Two. These were only released to the crew. The shoe is called Air Seinfeld. That’s insane. If you look at the label, [it says] promo. 1993. These are four years older than me. You can’t even Google these.”

On getting Playstation Air Force 1s…

LY: “Playstation Air Force 1s. It took me a long time to find these. I think I got them for a $1,000. These say promo. These came out, right? 67/150. Man, I wish I had 69. There are a lot fake Playstations. Who am I to judge anyone? But mines is real.”

On Jordan copying Mackelmore’s Air Jordan 6s for the Gatorade 6

LY: “My friend Macklemore had a green, prototype 6. It was kind of like this. He thinks they stole his idea. They probably did. I’m with him. Cause they never came out. He actually has a VI that he’s supposed to give me for the longest. I talked to me the other night, and he was like, “I still got your size 11.” I’ll get them when I go to Seattle.”

On Virgil Abloh going to Louis Vuitton…

LY: “I’m super excited, bro. I already love Louis Vuitton. Now that Virgil’s going there, I’ll love it ten times more.”
